The parish of Daresbury, Moore and Preston Brook is located in North Cheshire some 20 miles from Chester and 4 miles from Warrington. It is situated within the Weaver Vale constituency. The Parish was formed in 1885 and is one of the 17 that comprise the Borough of Halton.
There are three main settlements in the Parish, Daresbury, Moore and Preston Brook. The villages are surrounded by hills and heaths, woods and fields, connected by an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways.
The area is valued for its tranquil, rural setting. Daresbury Parish lies in the Green Belt and at the heart of each village lies a Conservation Area of special architectural or historic interest.
